Asking ‘How much does a rock cost?’ usually leads to many follow-up questions. A few specific details at the start shorten that process and help secure a quotation that will not change after the first meeting. This is the checklist we use with clients, architects and contractors.
What is enough to start?
- Site photographs – several views from different sides, including a wider perspective.
- Approximate dimensions – width, height and area; estimates are fine.
- Purpose of the decoration – what should change: a pool backdrop, children’s attraction, product display or utility screen.
- Date – when the decoration must be ready and whether the date is fixed.
What speeds up pricing?
- Plans and sections or an architectural design, if one exists.
- Inspiration – photographs, our projects you like or a theme description.
- Approximate budget – lets us immediately propose a scope within it.
- Services information – water, lighting, ventilation and maintenance access.

What should you mention immediately?
- Installation window – whether the venue operates, permitted hours and how many days the zone can close.
- Access – door width, goods lift, floor and unloading space.
- Who designs – whether an architect or main contractor is involved and who approves the appearance.
- Venue requirements – for example fire safety, workplace safety and client documentation.
What will you receive in response?
We answer the first enquiry with questions and a proposed direction. Depending on the project, we then develop a concept or analyse the supplied design, followed by a quotation covering scope, cost and schedule. The stages are described on the page how we work, and indicative figures in price list.
