Artificial rocks and decorations
for zoos and amusement parks
We make rocky enclosure landscapes, conceal technical infrastructure, and create artificial trees and themed attraction decorations. We work to a zoo or park's concept or a theme developed together.

What we make
in a zoo or amusement park?
In an enclosure, rock forms part of the animals' environment; beside an attraction, it forms part of the story for visitors. In both cases, it must withstand outdoor conditions and intensive use.

Rock landscapes in zoos
Larger forms, walls and rocky exhibit surroundings. We work to arrangements agreed by the designers and zoo team.
Artificial rocks
Themed façades and decorations
Stylised structures and entrance elements linked to the park's theme.
Themed spaces
Trees and natural forms
Sculpted trunks, branches and trees in natural or fantastical styles.
Artificial trees
Props and unusual forms
Decorative ships, casings and sculpted details for specific scenery.
Three-dimensional decorationsUp close
Rock for animals
and for visitors.
In an enclosure, the form follows the species' needs; beside an attraction, it follows the story for guests. In both cases, details viewed up close matter.

Enclosure and attraction
step by step.
We work to an exhibit concept or a theme developed together with the zoo or park team.
How we work- 01
Species or theme
The animals' needs or the attraction's storyline, plans and photographs of the site.
- 02
Form and infrastructure
Rock shapes, ledges, shelters, and doors, windows and access panels to conceal.
- 03
Production in the workshop
Elements are made away from the enclosure, resistant to outdoor conditions.
- 04
Installation during the season
We agree work dates and hours with the facility team.
Enclosure and attraction with users in mind
Animals' needs
We shape the rocks around the animals' needs. In the hyrax enclosure, numerous rock ledges where they like to sit were essential.
Concealing infrastructure
At Hellabrunn, we fitted the rocks around staff doors, windows, animal exits and glass panels, and screened technical buildings.
Outdoor conditions
The rocks withstand rain, frost and sunshine. We select a finish resistant to the conditions and cleaning.
Visitor safety
In parks and beside children's attractions, we eliminate gaps and sharp edges within reach.
For an enclosure or attraction quotation
An enclosure or zone plan, species or theme, infrastructure to conceal and the planned date.
Artificial rocks in enclosures
In an enclosure, rock is more than decoration. It gives animals places to sit, climb and shelter, and visitors the impression of a natural habitat. We shape it around the species' needs, agreed with keepers and the zoo team. Example: rocky hyrax enclosure in Germany with numerous ledges inspired by the animals' natural environment.
Concealing technical infrastructure
Every zoo has technical buildings, staff doors, animal passages and services that should remain out of sight. Rock can conceal them without losing access. At Hellabrunn Zoo in Munich we fitted the rocks around doors, windows, animal exits and glass panels, and screened technical buildings.
Amusement park theming
- Entrances and caves – rock gateways, tunnels and caves along visitor routes. See grottoes and caves.
- Façades and scenery – stylised structures and decorations sharing a theme. More: themed spaces.
- Trees and natural forms – sculpted trunks and trees in natural or fantastical styles. See artificial trees.
- Water areas – rocks beside paddling pools and water playgrounds, as at water park in Germany.
Outdoor conditions and safety
Outdoor rocks withstand rain, frost and sunshine, and intensive use beside attractions. GRP resists water and UV rays, and its low weight makes installation on existing structures easier. In areas accessible to children, we eliminate gaps and sharp edges within reach.
How does a project proceed?
- Arrangements with the facility team: species or theme, scope and seasonal schedule.
- Form concept or work to an exhibit design.
- Production of elements in the workshop.
- On-site installation – planned to minimise disruption to the zoo or park's operation.

– questions and answers
Information before commissioning work.
Ask your own questionAre artificial rocks suitable for animal enclosures?+
Yes. We design the shape of the rocks together with the zoo team to meet the species' needs. In the hyrax enclosure in Germany, numerous rock ledges where the animals like to sit were essential – we made approx. 100 m² of rocks in 8 days of on-site work.
Can rocks conceal technical buildings and services?+
Yes, this is one of the most common tasks. At Hellabrunn Zoo in Munich, we fitted the rocks around staff doors, windows, animal exits and glass panels, and screened technical buildings while retaining staff access.
How do artificial rocks withstand outdoor conditions?+
GRP resists water, frost and UV rays. We select the finish to suit outdoor conditions and the cleaning method used by the facility's staff.
Do you create themed attractions in amusement parks?+
Yes: rock entrances, caves, façades, sculpted trees and props. At a water park in Germany, we made approx. 200 m² of rocks and a sculpted skull at the entrance to the children's water zone.
Do you work to external designs?+
Yes. We can make rocks to an exhibit designer's or landscape architect's concept, or join a main contractor as a subcontractor. We can also propose our own theme concept.
