Visitors see the animals' rocky surroundings. The same structure incorporates places needed by staff: doors, windows and service access routes. The decoration had to work with the layout of these elements.

At Hellabrunn, we helped create the rock landscape around enclosures and service buildings. The photographs show how the sculpted surface brings different parts of the facility into a unified setting.

Rock cladding
around the building.

The rocks screen technical elements and connect them visually with the enclosure. Their divisions take account of openings, glazing and access points. These details are worth resolving at the design stage.

For your project, we can discuss the appearance of the rocks together with the plan for operating the area. This approach allows the infrastructure to be incorporated into the shape of the decoration.

Can the rocks be adapted to existing service areas?

This adaptation was part of the project described at Hellabrunn. The decoration's layout took account of doors, windows and other openings. To discuss your area, we need a plan and photographs of the infrastructure.

Did StoneDeco create the entire landscape of this zoo?

We describe our contribution to the decorations around the enclosures and technical structures. This project page does not attribute the entire development or the independent construction of the whole rock landscape to StoneDeco.

How do you start work on rocks for an enclosure?

Start with the purpose of the area, its dimensions and operational requirements. Please indicate access points, existing services and the desired appearance. We will use these to discuss the scope of the decoration.

What determines the quotation?

The size and number of elements, complexity of their shape, texture and finish, and the scope of on-site work. We discuss transport and installation alongside the project. Please send dimensions, photographs of the space and your planned date so we can define the specific scope.
