Artificial rocks and scenery
for water parks and pools

We make rocks, grottos, passages, slide enclosures and scenery for water areas in water parks, thermal baths, hotel pools and campsites. Elements are prepared in the workshop, so on-site work takes days rather than weeks.

What decorations
for a water area?

From a rock wall beside the pool to an entire themed area with a grotto, slide and greenery. We match the scope to the venue's design and how guests use the space.

Scope in the water area

What do we make,
and what do we coordinate?

Several trades work in a water park at once. This is our usual division of scope; details are recorded in the quotation.

Ordering step by step

Water park theming
step by step.

We join at the concept, design or construction stage, planning installation to keep the area's closure as short as possible.

How we work
  1. Plans and project stage

Area plans, visualisations or a theme description, and the planned opening date.

  2. Concept or design

Our own theming concept or preparation of the client's design for production.

  3. Production in the workshop

Moulds, GRP, sculpting and colour, without dust in the venue.

  4. Installation in the construction window

We install finished elements at the agreed time, including in operating venues.

Water area sets requirements

  • Chlorine, moisture, temperature

GRP is waterproof; we choose the finish for conditions in the pool hall and the cleaning products used.

  • Guest safety

We shape rocks without gaps where a child could insert a hand or places where water might collect, as beside the slides at the campsite in the Alps.

  • Short interruption to operation

Prefabrication reduces work on site. We installed the Jungle Quest scenery at Suntago in 5 working days.

  • Interface with pool systems

We do not install pool systems. We agree penetrations, inspection openings and decoration interfaces with the responsible contractor.

Water park theming: from a single rock to an entire area

Water parks and hotel pool areas compete through the experience they offer. A rock-clad slide, grotto with a waterfall or themed children's area makes a place memorable and encourages guests to return. The scope can vary greatly, from a few metres of rock beside the pool to scenery for an entire part of the venue.

Material in contact with pool water

We make rocks from GRP (glass-reinforced plastic), which does not absorb water or crumble in the humid air of the pool hall. We finish the surface with the cleaning products used by staff in mind. The material's low weight (approx. 6 kg/m²) makes installation easier on mezzanines, ceilings and existing structures. We discuss conditions in water zones in more detail in the article Artificial rocks beside pools and in water parks.

Guest safety

  • no gaps where a child could put a hand or foot,
  • no places where standing water collects,
  • rounded edges within guests' reach,
  • secure fixing of elements that guests touch.

The designer determines circulation areas, slide specifications and regulations for the facility – we adapt the decoration to these requirements.

Installation in an operating facility

Every day a zone is closed costs the operator money. That is why the elements are made in our workshop in Wołów and delivered to the facility finished and painted. At Suntago, after approx. 4 weeks of preparation, we worked on site for 5 working days. We describe the detailed arrangements with the construction team in the checklist Installing decorations in an operating facility.

Working with the designer and main contractor

On swimming pool projects, we often work as a subcontractor: to an architect's design or in agreement with the main contractor. We agree interfaces with pool systems, fixings and the installation window with them. See how we work with architects and with main contractors.

Information before commissioning work.

Ask your own question
Will artificial rocks withstand chlorine and humidity in a pool hall?

Yes. GRP does not absorb water, and we select the finish to suit the conditions in the hall and the cleaning products used at the facility. Our rocks are in use at Suntago water park, in the pool area at Le Mont Hotel and beside slides at a campsite in the Alps, among other locations.

Can you work in an operating water park?

Yes. We do most of the work in our workshop and assemble finished elements on site. We spent approx. 4 weeks preparing the Jungle Quest scenery at Suntago and worked at the facility for 5 working days. We agree installation hours and areas with the operator.

Do you provide pool systems?

No. We make decorations; specialist companies provide pool systems, waterproofing and services. We agree penetrations, access panels, fixings and interfaces with the decoration with them.

Are rocks beside slides and paddling pools safe for children?

We shape the rocks to avoid gaps where a child could put a hand and sharp edges within guests' reach. The facility designer determines the specifications of the attractions and circulation areas – we adapt the decoration to them.

Do you work to an architect's or main contractor's design?

Yes, this is a common arrangement. At Suntago we made scenery to the client's completed design, and a cave at a water park in Germany as a subcontractor, developing the client's idea into a design. We can also propose our own theming concept.

How should I prepare an enquiry about water park decorations?

Plans or photographs of the area, information about the project's stage, the planned date and a description of the intended effect are enough. If a theming design exists, it is worth including it.
