The sound of water changes a garden more than many a flowerbed. An artificial waterfall, cascade or stream feeding a pond adds movement, sound and reflected light. The first question is usually whether ready-made elements are enough or a bespoke design is needed.
Ready-made cascade and stream elements
We offer ready-made GRP cascades, stream elements and ponds. They look like natural stone, are lightweight and resist garden conditions. Their greatest benefit is simple installation: elements overlap without screws or joint filling.
A good example is the 14-metre stream in Silesia. We helped select element numbers and bends, while the owner laid the whole stream himself.
Ready-made elements work when:
- you plan a stream or cascade several to a dozen or so metres long,
- the site has a slight usable slope,
- you want a quick result and self-installation.
Bespoke waterfall
A bespoke design makes sense if the waterfall is to be the garden’s main attraction or combine functions. Near Kraków, we designed a corner from scratch: rocks surrounded an existing hot tub, with waterfalls, lighting and rock planters alongside. We even added small shelves for glasses beside the tub.
A bespoke waterfall is usually chosen when:
- a wall, fence or corner needs screening,
- water should fall from greater height or form several cascades,
- the waterfall connects to a hot tub, terrace or existing pond,
- rock needs to hide equipment such as a pump, filter or chamber.
Pump, water circuit and maintenance access
Every waterfall needs a closed circuit: tank or pond, pump and a pipe carrying water upwards. Before purchasing, agree:
- pump output – it determines whether water falls as a trickle or a broad cascade;
- pump and pipe locations – so that maintenance does not require dismantling the rocks;
- power and lighting – best planned from the outset.
The spillway shape matters
The edge over which water falls determines sound and splashing. An overly sharp edge sprays water outside the channel; one too flat lets it run down the rock without effect. For bespoke projects, we agree spillway shapes before manufacture.
How to start
For a simple stream, explore our ready-made elements and ask for selection advice. If the garden needs an individual solution, site photographs, approximate dimensions and an idea description are enough. We will prepare a proposal and quotation.
